About Me
Hey there! My name is Paul, and I'm the creator and operator of Baldur's Guide. I've been passionate about gaming since I was a kid. Initially, video games were an escape for me, but as I grew older, I recognized their deeper value. Modern games, especially RPGs, blend critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and strategy—skills that psychologists recommend to keep the mind sharp and fend off dementia. Video games allow people of all ages to keep their minds active by forming new neural connections. My interest in this area is backed by my degrees in both psychology and education.
Although I didn't pursue a career in psychology or education, I found my calling in the arts, both visual and literary. I work as a part-time graphic designer, author, and video editor. Additionally, I channel my love for video games through my YouTube content. If you enjoy gaming videos on YouTube or have played Fallout 4, you might have come across my channel called the Skooled Zone. I have hundreds of videos dedicated to the game, particularly focused on building settlements. Building in Fallout 4 is like assembling 3D puzzles, similar to Minecraft but with better graphics and a post-apocalyptic theme.
I hadn't been captivated by a game as much as Fallout 4 until Baldur's Gate III was released. This game reignited my passion in RPGs, especially since I've played D&D throughout life. While I considered starting a new YouTube channel for BG3, the market was already crowded, and I didn't want to detract from my existing channel. Instead, I decided to create a website to share the Tips & Tricks I've discovered. My aim is to convey the joy and fascination I've found in the game through the articles on this site.
You'll notice that my articles have a conversational tone. This is intentional to help you feel more connected with the content. I wanted to avoid the detached style common in many gaming articles and foster a sense of community. If you'd like to reach out to me, my contact information is below...
